Carbon River Homes began as Carbon River Construction Company back in 1989. At that time, our main focus was high-end custom homes. In fact, in 1991 Carbon River Construction Company built the most expensive home ever constructed in Pierce County (that record still holds today).
Several years ago, we decided to venture into the world of speculative building. We prefer to call it semi-custom construction, because that's a more accurate description of what we do. We start with an architect's design, then alter it to suit the site and what we think our buyers are looking for. Then, each home receives a different elevation and a customized interior finish package. The result is a neighborhood filled with one-of-a-kind homes.
If you purchase a Carbon River Home prior to construction - or at a stage that allows for modifications - we will work with you on changes that make your house a reflection of you. Cabinetry, hardwood flooring, all the way down to door-knobs are available for you to customize. Naturally, you're free to work with our local interior finishes supplier, as well, to select colors and materials that suit the way you live.
We work hard to make sure each Carbon River home is given the attention any true custom home would. Above all, we believe that stepping across the threshold of a Carbon River Home should feel like slipping into your favorite pair of shoes. (Stylish ones, of course!)

Do you prefer to leave the decision making to others? Not a problem. Each Carbon River Home features up-to-the-minute finishes, without resorting to trendy materials that will quickly show their age.

So, if you’ve sworn you’ll never, ever so much as look at a paint chip, don’t worry--you’re in capable hands.

The last several years we’ve seen spectacular changes in the quality of the product we are able to offer homebuyers looking for a semi-custom home. Part of that is directly attributable to our homeowners. They’ve talked and we’ve listened. For instance, we devised our new “Waiting for You Program” in response to buyers expressing a desire to have more control over the entire design process--from cabinets to hardwood flooring to door hardware. “Waiting for You” offers buyers an organized way to pull together their home, without pulling out their hair. (Your Realtor or one of our on-site sales consultants can provide you with more information about the program.) You also like almond windows; granite; and true, finished-in-place hardwood flooring. We try to incorporate as many of your suggestions as possible, while striving to maintain that tiresome thing called a budget.
Stop by and visit one of our new home communities. Have a look and let us know what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
